Mary Dalimonte named to Giant Tiger board

Mary Dalimonte has been named to Giant Tiger's board of directors. She brings with her more than 40 years of grocery experience, an area in which the retailer is looking to increase its offering.

Dalimonte recently retired as senior vice-president of merchandising and commercial programs at Sobeys, a company she joined in 2008. In this role, Dalimonte was instrumental in developing a concept store, Sobeys Extra, which features expanded fresh, grocery and HMR offerings combined with in-store experts and services.

Prior to joining Sobeys, Dalimonte spent more than 30 years with Loblaw Companies Limited in increasingly senior roles, including senior director of store operations, general manager of retail operations and VP, store operations.

Dalimonte was a 2017 Star Women in Grocery Award winner and a 2018 Golden Pencil recipient.
