Canadians love peanut butter. But will they love it on popcorn? With chocolate?

Popcorn Indiana sure hopes so. The company’s new product, Chocolate Peanut Butter Drizzlecorn, hits Canadian shelves Sept 1.

“We have taken the three snacks the general population are fanatical about: peanut butter, chocolate and popcorn and combined it to create a super snack,” Hitesh Hajarnavis, president and CEO of Englewood, N.J.-based Popcorn Indiana, said in a press release.

Quoting research from the Peanut Bureau of Canada, the popcorn maker said that Canada is the largest single-market importer of peanut butter.

Eight in 10 Canadians eat peanut butter once or more per week, and 94% of households eat peanut butter overall.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Drizzlecorn is popcorn with dollops of peanut butter and drizzles of chocolate all over.

The product is gluten-free and does not contain any artificial ingredients. It’s made from non-GMO corn and uses cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup.

Suggested retail price for a 156-gram bag is $3.99 to $4.99.

Last month Popcorn Indiana won a Product of the Year Canada award for its Fit Popcorn. Each cup of Fit contains just 37 calories.

The company noted that Chocolate Peanut Butter Drizzlecorn is launching  just ahead the American “Popcorn Poppin’ Month” in October and “Peanut Butter Lover’s Month” in November.

Hajarnavis added his popcorn will make an ideal treat during the holidays.
