After a year and a half as CEO and president of Distribution Canada Inc. (DCI), Marc Fortin is stepping down to become president and CEO of Retail Council of Canada Quebec.

Fortin (pictured) will be replaced by Todd Newstead, the outgoing vice-president of national field sales at Canada Bread.

During his tenure at DCI, Fortin is credited with bringing "new energy" to the organization and establishing such industry events as the DCI/CFIG Charity Golf Classic, the DCI Business Summit and the DCI Star Awards.

Newstead will bring more than 25 years of experience to the president and CEO role, when he takes the helm on Jan. 8. Newstead has held various positions at Canada Bread, Stonemill Bakehouse, Weston Bakeries and Ready Bake Foods.
