Goodness Me aims to open four more stores

Organic food store sets its sights on West GTA, Southern Ontario
5/14/2018

Goodness Me, the Ontario-based organic food and supplement store, plans to open four locations in the next two years.

Founded by Janet and Scott Jacks in 1981, Goodness Me first opened in Hamilton, Ont. and today has nine locations—Burlington, Hamilton (two), Mississauga, Waterdown, Guelph, Brantford, Barrie and Waterloo—and an e-commerce site serving all of Canada.

For its expansion, Goodness Me is focusing on West GTA and Southern Ontario, namely communities west of the city, but not farther than London, Ont. Preferred square footage is between 12,000 and 18,000.

Goodness Me started as a passion project stemming from Scott's diabetes diagnosis, and grew thanks to consumer demand. To ensure they would have a long, healthy and happy life together, Janet decided a healthier diet—based on natural, organic food—would be key in improving Scott’s health. When Jacks couldn’t find what she needed in shops around her home in Hamilton, she decided to start her own organic-focused grocery store.
