Though we're heading into the 2019 holiday shopping season, Amazon already has its sights set on next year. The e-giant says it will open a fulfillment centre in Quebec in time for the 2020 holiday shopping season.

The facility, the first for Amazon in the province, will be located in Lachine on the Island of Montreal and used to pick, pack and ship such items as toys, pet products and small electronics. It will create more than 300 full-time jobs, Amazon said.

"We're excited about our growth in Montreal, which gives us the opportunity to better serve our customers across Quebec," said Alexandre Gagnon, vice-president of Amazon Canada, in a release. "The Greater Montreal area has a talented workforce, and we are committed to providing the area with great job opportunities that have comprehensive pay and benefits."

The new Quebec warehouse joins other Amazon fulfillment centres in Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta.
