Michael Laliberté has been appointed executive director of Chicken Farmers of Canada, replacing Mike Dungate, who has held the role for more than 20 years. Dungate will remain with the organization in an advisory role until the end of the year.

Laliberté has been with Chicken Farmers of Canada for more than 20 years, most recently serving as director of operations overseeing the finance and human resources and administration units. In his new role, Laliberté will report to the board of directors. He starts Oct. 2.

"The Board of Directors undertook a robust, external recruitment process to find the right candidate," said chair Benoît Fontaine, in a press release announcing the appointment. "We are pleased that Michael Laliberté will be bringing his vast experience to the role and we look forward to working with him."
