Atlantic Superstore shoppers in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick can now order their groceries online and pick them up at participating locations using the grocer's click and collect service.

The Loblaw-owned banner is making the service available at seven Atlantic Superstore locations in the Halifax area, and select stores in New Brunswick will offer the service starting Dec. 12. The grocery company plans to continue to roll out the service to other Atlantic markets throughout 2018.

"This service has been extremely successful in other markets,"said Jeremy Pee, senior vice-president e-commerce, Loblaw Digital, in a press release announcing the service expansion. "As we bring it to our Atlantic Superstore customers, we've made our pick-up times faster and ensured our product offering reflects all the local favourites and best-selling brands our customers expect."

The first Loblaw click-and-collect store was the Loblaws in Richmond Hill, Ont., which began offering the service via a drive-thru in 2014. Loblaw expects to have more than 200 pickup locations across Canada by the end of the year.

Loblaw also recently announced it is partnering with California-based Instacart to deliver food and other pantry staples from Loblaws, Real Canadian Superstore and T&T locations to customers in Toronto starting Dec. 6 and Vancouver starting in January.
