Meat products that were packaged at an IGA store in Port McNeill, B.C. are being recalled due to the possible presence of metal shavings.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says the recall was initiated by the store (on Campbell Way).

The recalled products include extra lean ground beef, lean ground beef in individual and family-sized packages, lean ground pork and seasoned meatballs.

The packages display a best-before date of either Oct. 16 or 17.

The CFIA says it is conducting an investigation, which it says may lead to the recall of other products.

The agency says there are no reports of any injuries.
