Range of vegetable products recalled

Various vegetable products from brands such as Mann’s, Compliments and Western Family are being recalled from the marketplace due to possible Listeria contamination.

The list of recalled products includes a wide range of items from Mann’s, including Mann’s Power Blends, Mann’s Family Favorites, Mann’s Culinary Cuts, and Mann’s Nourish Bowls. The list also includes a couple of Compliments brand items—Cauliettes Chop and Vegetable Platter—as well as a number of Western Family products, such as Spicy Southwestern Kale Salad Kit, Vegetable Medley and Broccoli Slaw.

This recall was triggered by Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) test results.

According to the CFIA, food contaminated with Listeria may not look or smell spoiled but can still cause illness. Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
