Salmon caviar recalled over potential botulism growth

International House of Caviar is recalling AKI brand Chum Salmon Caviar because it may permit the growth of Clostridium botulinum.

The recall applies to 50-gram tins sold in Alberta and British Columbia with a best before date of Nov. 17.

This recall was triggered by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency's (CFIA) inspection activities. The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.
