Smucker Foods of Canada is investing $12 million to upgrade equipment at its Sherbrooke, Que. manufacturing facility, where it produces such brands as Carnation evaporated milk and Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk.

The investment is funded in part by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Agri-Food and, according to a press release, will allow the company to "increase its flexibility and the variety of products produced."

"This investment will go a long way toward solidifying our long-term presence in Sherbrooke," said Aurelio Calabretta, vice-president and general manager for Smucker Foods of Canada, in the release. "Through this initiative, we will be able to introduce new packaging capabilities previously unavailable to us in Canada."
