Coming soon: Greek yogurt pancake mixes? Pet treats?

Andy Warhol once said that in the future everyone would be famous for 15 minutes. Perhaps the same thing could be said for food ingredients. Kale, coconut, quinoa all seem to be having their moment in the sun now.

Then there’s Greek yogurt, whose fame seems to be stretching past the hour.

Some think Green yogurt’s expiration date of fame must be imminent. But a new report from Affinnova, suggests otherwise.

“Greek Yogurt Revolution,” says the creamy protein-filled yogurt is poised to become a “super trend” and has a dizzying array of line extensions still to offer.

Among them, Greek yogurt vitamin chews, smoothies, anti-wrinkle cream, baking mix, pancake mix, salad dressings and dips.

Affinnova, a research firm based in Waltham, Mass., conducted consumer research to examine which line extensions offer the greatest potential.

Some Greek yogurt products, however, aren’t ready for prime time. Among them: Greek yogurt cat treats and flushable wipes.
