British retailer Marks & Spencer will be testing out a new laser technology for fruit labelling.
Reports said the retailer would start tattooing lasers on oranges first and could be expanded to other produce.
The eco-friendly laser labels would eliminate the stickers growers are left with when design changes happen.
The technology by Spanish company Laser Food is able to etch logos, labels, QR codes, and use-by dates onto the skin of fruit. It leaves fruit undamaged and is completely natural.
Grocers in Poland, Russia, and France already use the laser label technology.
