Not the kale! Anything but the kale!

Time to turn to another leafy green – kale's in short supply.

According to an article in Modern Farmer, Bejo Seeds, one of the world's leading kale seed suppliers has reached the end of their kale stock.

"You could describe it as embarrassing to us, but it's just one of those things that's happened on a global basis," said Tony Hubbard, who runs Bejo Seeds' Australian office. "It's caught us out well and truly, we put our hands up to that."

Fortunately, we might still be able to avoid a kale catastrophe. Earlier this year, U.S. kale crops were attacked by a bug so aggressive that some thought the country's supply could be completely destroyed by June.

But just to be safe, maybe opt for quinoa over kale when looking for your next superfood meal.
