Trader Joe's tops in U.S., says Consumer Reports survey

When it comes to what's tops with U.S. consumers, bigger isn't the best.

In Consumer Reports' latest ratings of the country's supermarkets, Walmart is last among the 55 chains in the survey, while Trader Joe's was tops.

The publication surveys 27,000 of its readers and among the most common complaints were long checkout lines, crowded aisles and out of stocks on promotional items.

The magazine also surveyed readers on the chains for their food offering. Only these six supermarkets got top marks for their food: Whole Foods, Sprouts, Publix, Wegmans, Raley's, and Costco.
