Canadian Food Innovators appoints interim CEO

Food industry veteran Barbara Miller has stepped into the organization's top role

Barbara Miller has taken the reins at Canadian Food Innovators on an interim basis. The Guelph, Ont.-based organization was established in 2013 to enable Canada's food and beverage manufacturers to jointly access federal innovation programs.

A food industry veteran, Miller has previously held positions at Ault Foods, Campbell Soup Company and is a former Deputy Minister with the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Trade. For more than 15 years, Miller has also been the owner of a management consulting firm focused on strategy, business development and public-private sector collaboration.

"Barbara joins at a critical time for delivering the organization's mandate and role in strengthening innovation in Canada's food and beverage processing industry," said Joe Lake, chair of the organization and director of innovation and research at McCain Foods Limited in a press release announcing the appointment.
