The Grocery Foundation has announced that Empire president and CEO Michael Medline will chair its board of directors.

Medline has been a member of the not-for-profit's board for the past two years and, in a press release announcing his appointment, said he had seen "firsthand the impact The Grocery Foundation has on the lives of so many children across Canada."

"The difficult reality is that Canadian children need our support now more than ever," said Medline. "I am honoured to step into the role of board chair and look forward to working with this incredible team to help deliver that support to our nation’s children and youth who are most vulnerable."
