Save-On-Foods announces executive changes

Among the changes: Jamie Nelson becomes executive VP of Save-On-Foods; Brenda Kirk becomes senior VP of health, wellness, and our brands

Save-On-Foods has announced changes to its corporate structure, all of which take place at the company’s Langley, B.C.-based head office.

Most notably, Jamie Nelson, formerly the executive vice-president of retail, has now taken on the role of executive vice-president, Save-On-Foods. In this role, Nelson will oversee marketing; public affairs and corporate social responsibility; people and communications; merchandising and inventory management; health, innovation and private brands; and real estate and store development. 

Brenda Kirk has been promoted from vice-president of innovation and private brands to senior vice-president of health, wellness, and "our" brands. In this role, Kirk will provide strategic leadership for the drugstore, including pharmacy, health, beauty and personal care, ethnic, and third-party business partnerships. 

Two new vice-presidents have also been appointed: Paul Cope has been promoted to vice-president of Save-On-Foods B.C., overseeing all aspects of operations for the company’s B.C. stores; and Ben Harrack has been promoted to vice-president of Save-On-Foods, Prairies and will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s operations outside of British Columbia.

 Wayne Currie, previously senior vice-president of I.T., now also has responsibility for supply chain and e-commerce as senior vice-president of I.T., Supply Chain and E-Commerce. 

And Mike Fong will be taking on the new role of vice-president of business development, where he’ll be responsible for identifying and managing new growth opportunities.
