Acosta Canada gets a new president on Monday when Brent Scowen takes the reins of the national sales and marketing agency.

Scowen (pictured) has worked at several major consumer packaged goods companies over the past 20 years, including Campbell’s, Ocean Spray, Danone and Cadbury Beverages.

He was managing director at Ocean Spray in Canada from 2000 to 2002 and served as vice-president of commercial and customer development at Campbell’s from 2002 to 2007.

Scowen’s most recent job was VP of customer experience at Cogeco Cable.

At Acosta, Scowen will replace Shaun McKenna as president.

McKenna has been given a new North American role within the company: executive vice-president of strategic channels.

“Brent comes to us with an extensive background and strong leadership in highly competitive industries,” McKenna said in a letter. “ has spent his career serving customers, fostering strategic customer partnerships and building high-performance teams.”

Scowen will report to McKenna, working out of Acosta’s office in Vaughan, Ont.

He serves on the board of governors for Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, Ont. and the board of directors of the Halton Industry Education Council, a not-for-profit in Burlington that promotes partnerships between industry and schools.

Scowen has a bachelor of commerce from McMaster University.
