CPMA hires new food safety specialist

Jeff Hall will be responsible for CPMA's food safety efforts in newly-created role

The Canadian Produce Marketing Association has announced the appointment of Jeff Hall to the newly-created role of Food Safety Specialist.

In this role, Hall will be responsible for food safety efforts such as responding to member food safety inquiries, crisis management, monitoring domestic and international regulations, developing training programs and resourcing funding. He will be responsible for CPMA’s food safety efforts and will act as the principal liaison with all food safety stakeholders.

The role was created after food safety was identified as a top priority for the CPMA. Members agreed that while many organizations focus on food safety research, there was very little which specifically addressed the Canadian produce industry.

Hall brings with him a wealth of experience within the food industry, from both the retail and association level, including work on the CPMA and Retail Council of Canada’s Food Safety Committee.

He will begin his new role on January 23rd.
