Decker named chief executive at High Liner

High Liner Foods has caught a new CEO. Keith Decker (pictured) has been named the seafood company’s new chief executive.

Decker, who had been president and chief operating officer, will replace Henry Demone, who is stepping down from the top job at High Liner.

Decker’s promotion is part of a succession plan that's been in the works for several years, Demone noted in a press statement. High Liner, Demone continued, aims to “ensure continued strong leadership into the future.”

Decker joined High Liner in 2007 when the Lunenburg, N.S.-based company purchased Fishery Products International’s North American value-added foodservice and retail frozen seafood business. Decker had been president and COO at FPI.

In March 2008, High Liner named Decker president and COO of its U.S. division. During his time stateside, he led the integration of three companies purchased by High Liner.

Decker now also joins the board of directors of High Liner, of which Demone has also just been appointed chairman.
