Fortinos' Burlington: the next generation in fresh

Fortinos Appleby Line Burlington, Ont., is the newest store under the Fortinos banner and represents the next generation in fresh foods.

The 80,000-square-foot store features a new fresh food to-go experience called Pane Fresco, what Loblaw describes as “a fresh market emporium."

Originally, it was a bakery known for artisan breads made with natural ingredients, but now it includes dishes created from recipes inspired by traditional Italian food and flavours.

The Pane Fresco features a seating area with a diner-inspired look with free Wi-Fi as well as:

-The Carvery–an open-flame roasted certified angus prime rib, whole turkey breast, porchetta. All carved to order and available as an indidcual dinner or whole roast;

-Rotisserie–grain-fed and traditional-style chickens;

-Soup station–16 soups daily, everyday;

-Chill & Grill–fresh salads finished with fresh grilled salmon, shrimp or chicken;

-Artisan breads–all natural, no preservatives, using traditional methods;

-Roman pizzas–authentic, handmade, signature pizzas from recipes inspired by a bakery in Rome;

-Panini station–Panini, sandwiches and wraps, all made fresh daily with premium ingredients from our own recipes;

-Café–serving coffee from beans roasted fresh in store;

-Authentic Montreal-style bagels, first boiled then baked in gas-fired ovens;

-Fortinos famous hanging sides of beef hand selected by its meat buyers then stamped with the Fortinos seal for quality, marbling and flavour;

-Ontario-raised lamb and veal;

-Fortinos-own signature Ontario pork sausages made with premium ingredients;

-Produce includes the largest displays of mushroom and pepper varieties.

Other in-store features include a certified holistic nutritionists on-site daily; as well a bulk food collection of more than 600 items–baking, snacking, grains and sugar-free items.
