Ultima recalls various drinkable yogurt products

Ultima Foods is recalling some of its drinkable yogurt products.

In a press release, the company said Iögo nano drinkable 93 ml and some flavors of drinkable 1-liter formats with the letter 'C' close to the expiration date may contain plastic fragments.

The affected items have been sold in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec.

The Quebec-based company is asking the products be removed from store shelves. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is overseeing the recall process. Ultima Foods said there have been no consumer complaints associated with these products.

Earlier this week, Ultima Foods announced it was investing $14.4 million to install a drinkable yogurt production line at its manufacturing plant in Granby, Que.

The company, which is co-owned by Agropur and Agrifoods, said the investment would create 35 to 40 jobs and allow it to increase weekly production from 2.7 million units to 4.8 million units.
