Move over rotisserie chicken and potato wedges and make way for curry bars and hot dim sum.

HMR has come a long way in grocery, and the market continues to boom. Today the HMR market is worth an estimated $2.4-billion in Canada, so it’s no wonder grocers are looking to get a piece of the HMR pie.

To provide some ideas on “What’s for Dinner?” in HMR, Grocery Innovations Canada will be showcasing culinary talents from the Greater Toronto Area on September 29 and 30.

In the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, on the cooking stage, top chefs from Pusateri’s, Longo’s, Galleria Supermarket and Summerhill Market will all be given a secret ingredient to create an HMR dish. Recipe to Riches TV judge and marketing guru Tony Chapman will host the event where the chefs will share how each of their respective supermarkets are showcasing HMR.

Grocery Innovations Canada is the grocery show for new products to exhibit at to get in front of Canada’s top retailers, whether corporate, franchise or independent. GIC has nearly 60,000 square feet of exhibit space, with more than 350 exhibiting companies.
