The Horizon Group is merging two of its Ontario-based distribution subsidiaries--Ontario Natural Food Company, Inc. (ONFC) and Corwin Distribution, Ltd.

ONFC and Corwin currently operate out of a shared 115,000-sq.-ft. distribution centre in Mississauga, Ontario. Both companies specialize in natural and organic grocery products.

The newly-formed organization, called ONFC Grocery + Wellness, will offer "more than 6,500 organic and natural products across major categories including grocery, refrigerated, frozen, functional food and beverage, nutritional supplements and personal care," according to a press release announcing the merger, which is expected to be finalized later this summer.

"Now that we have a clear mandate from our President, Ron Francisco, to bring these two operations together, we’re excited to be engaged in the broader strategic planning that will allow the newly reimagined ONFC Grocery + Wellness to flourish with a much more comprehensive approach to service and natural product offerings for the Eastern Canadian market,” said Terri Newell, vice-president of the Horizon Group.

The Horizon Group is privately held and has regional distribution facilities in B.C., Alberta, Quebec and Ontario.
