Overwaitea announces senior staff changes

Organizational changes meant to better align OFG's business processes

Overwaitea Food Group announced Monday a series of new appointments.

Jamie Nelson has been promoted to SVP, retail operations. Nelson has over 34 years of experience, having worked as a store manager, regional director and senior business leader in both the merchandising and operation sides of the business. In the role, Nelson will be resposnbile for all operational deliverables for Overwaitea. He will take on overall management responsiblity for Retail Support Services, OFG's best practices group and information technology, led by Gayle Corah, OFG's newly appointmed VP of information technology.

Blendle "Scotty" Scott has been promoted to SVP, merchandising and development. In the new role, Scotty will assume overall management responsibility for development and implementation of all aspects of OFG's go-to-market customer business strategy, including store design and layout. He will also be responsible for overall management of supply chain and e-commerce, which will be led by Wayne Currie, OFG's newly appointed VP, supply chain and e-commerce.

Mike Olson has been promoted to VP, fresh merchandising, and will be responsbile for leading all aspects of the fresh merchandising areas, as well as the ethnic development portfolio and OFG's specialty banner Urban Fare.

With this change Ken Clark, formerly OFG's general manager of fresh, will be taking on a new role as general manager of corporate brands. Brian Heppell, former general manager of corporate brands, will now be OFG's general manager of e-commerce.
