Target has announced it will open its first downtown Toronto location.

The store, which will be located between Union Station and the waterfront in Harbour Plaza, will open its doors in 2016.

“It will be one of our largest stores in the entire country,” said Tony Fisher, Target Canada’s chief executive officer in a report to The Toronto Star.

The two-story Target will reportedly occupy 145,000 square feet with underground parking and an entrance on Harbour Street.

The new location will position Target to be at the heart of Toronto’s downtown core.
