Few areas in grocery are as ripe for innovation as beverages. Energy drinks, coffee pods, tea and drinkable yogurt are just a few of the areas that have seen innovative new product development of late.

Juices are also in the midst of an innovative spurt, and one of the pioneers here is Jimmy Rosenberg, the founder of Naked Juice (now owned by PepsiCo) and Evolution Fresh juices (now owned by Starbucks).

Rosenberg remains CEO of Evolution, and in a wide-ranging interview with BevNet magazine, he discussed opportunities and challenges for the type of cold-pressed juices that Evolution makes.

Overall, he’s bullish on the category and thinks that fresh and cold-pressed juices will be the next big thing in juice.
