Canadian Grocer wins two National Magazine Awards: B2B
Canadian Grocer has won two 2025 National Magazine Awards: B2B, and received two honourable mentions.
The 2024 GroceryIQ Study: Taking Stock of Grocery Shopper Attitudes and Behaviours nabbed Gold in the Best Special Report Category.
The report was written by editor-in-chief Shellee Fitzgerald, with contributions from managing editor Kristin Laird. Jackie Shipley served as art director.
Canadian Grocer’s May 2024 issue was awarded Gold in the Best Cover category. Contributors include Shipley, Fitzgerald and Laird.
“A strong, well-executed cover from Canadian Grocer, with a dynamic main story that would interest the audience and two secondary story cover lines that promise good value. The photo and design is engaging and successfully utilize the Walmart brand colours while reinforcing the systems and tech angle of the story,” the NMA:B2B jury said.
Finally, Canadian Grocer received two honourable mentions.
Our “People” column was recognized in the category of Best Editorial, Column or Regularly Featured Department. The series is written by Andrea Yu with contributions from Fitzgerald and Laird.
“Generation Next Thinking” —written by Rebecca Harris with contributions from Fitzgerald and Laird—was recognized in the category of Best Series of Articles.
