Canadian sales growth slows for Costco in April
Club reports a 1.5% increase in comparable sales for the month
Costco Wholesale Corp. reported net sales of $21.18 billion for the retail month of April as comparable sales grew 1.5% in Canada.
That’s compared to 4.1% in March and 5.2% in April last year.
U.S. sales increased by 5.2% and Other International sales were up 3.2%.
E-commerce saw a 12.6% jump.
Costco said total and comparable sales were negatively impacted by 1 and 1.5% due to the Easter calendar shift.
The club’s net sales rose 7%. For the first 35 weeks of the fiscal year, Costco’s net sales rose to $180 billion, up 8.2% year-over-year.
