Henry Demone returns to CEO position at High Liner Foods

Henry Demone is returning to the role of chief executive officer at High Liner Foods, a position he held from 1992 to 2015.

He succeeds Keith Decker, who acted as CEO for a little more than two years.

During his previous tenure as CEO, Demone was credited with leading the Nova Scotia-based seafood company's transformation from a "regional fishing and processing operation to a global seafood procurer and leading supplier of frozen seafood in North America," according to a press release. He also played a key role in several acquisitions including Atlantic Trading Company and Icelandic Group's U.S. business.

"The board and I are confident that the company is pursuing the right strategy to grow our business and create long-term shareholder value," said Demone, who is also chairman of the company's board. "As CEO, I am looking forward to working more closely with the High Liner Foods leadership team on the execution of this strategy and on pursuing our growth opportunities."

The news of Demone's reappointment coincides with the release of High Liner's second-quarter results. Year over year sales increased $8 million to$232.4 million, while gross profit decreased by $8.9 million to $37.8 million.
